Thomas Kidd

BIO:

Thomas Kidd is Professor of History at Baylor University and is Senior Fellow at Baylor’s Institute for Studies of Religion. His books include George Whitefield: America’s Spiritual Founding Father (Yale University Press, 2014),  Patrick Henry: First Among Patriots, and God of Liberty: A Religious History of the American Revolution. Other books include American Christians and Islam, The Great Awakening: The Roots of Evangelical Christianity in Colonial America, and The Great Awakening: A Brief History with Documents. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Notre Dame, where he studied under George Marsden. Kidd writes regularly for outlets including WORLD magazine and USA Today.
