What Keeps Me Going This Week: 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

When life is tough — or even when it’s not — I’ve found comfort in the Bible. My favorite parts change from month to month, week to week, or even day to day.  Honestly, I should read it more than I do, because I’ve also found that life is better when I hang on to its promises and truth.

Here’s the verse that’s speaking to me right now, 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

This is a meaningful verse, because God has encouraged me so much today! I need to remember the source of all lasting encouragement.

This week, what verses are meaningful to you?

This verse spoke to me this week :)
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. http://bible.us/Gal6.10.NLT

But like you said, it changes for me daily! Nice to see you post more from your faith. And I want to try and read my Bible more too! It’s tough with littles around. But even if its just one verse it can help set your day off right. Praying for you Bristol.

Jeremiah 29:11. You shared it on a previous post and it really spoke to me. Sometimes life gets crazy and it’s comforting knowing God has a plan!

    Dearest Bristol,
My family & I have geniously loved what everything you have been through. You showed my family and my 15 year old daughter what it may be/&what it takes to deal and to be a full time “MOTHER”. We love you and admire you and everything you believe in. YOU GAVE “LIFE”. Our hearts and prayers are with you 1,000,000,000,000,000% & SOME. We believe in the ‘CONSTITUTION’ & FAMILY VALUES!

Hebrew 12:1-2 is a great encouragement to me. It lets me know I need to keep running the race and there is a great cloud of witnesses cheering me on to the finish.

“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples-when they see the love you have for each other.” http://bible.us/John13.34.MSG

This is the one that spoke to me, you are so right in how the liberals want everyone to agree with them, but have no concept of real love and tolerance.

I can’t wait to come see you dance live on Oct. 1st @ DWTS. Good Luck!

    I’m with ya Bristol.
Lately in watching the news and the disorder in the Nation I read Ps.2 it’s fitting.

The Lord has been encouraging me with this word this week- 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

    Job 42:12-15 ~
“The LORD blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. And he also had seven sons and three daughters. The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch. Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters…”
After all that Job endured, even though in the beginning he was one whom God said, There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil,” Job became even MORE “beautiful, ” so much so that it manifested in his daughters who were the most beautiful in the land!!
Thank You Lord for the trials we must endure! Amen.
