Great Idea: Dolls for Downs

This is fantastic. A mom in Pennsylvania, Connie Feda, makes some lovely and loving dolls for kids with Downs Syndrome. Here’s the story about the inspiration that came from her daughter from Today:

Born with Down syndrome, Hannah wanted a toy companion with almond-shaped eyes like hers and a zipper-like scar on her chest, just like the one she has after an operation to mend three holes in her heart.

“There’s no doll that looks like me and none of them have surgery,” she complained to her mother.

So Connie Feda searched for a doll with Down syndrome features, only to discover she didn’t like what she found.

“I think Hannah is a beautiful little thing,” Feda, a mother of six, told TODAY Moms.

“I see a sparkle in her eye and I see a lot of imp, and I didn’t see that in those dolls. I saw a very detailed, stereotypical perhaps, medical diagnosis stamped in plastic.”

A business idea was born: why not create a whole new set of dolls for kids just like Hannah?

These dolls are precious friends for precious children. And the sweetest thing? They are even available with the scar from the heart surgery that so many DS kids need to have.  Check out the whole story here.

I sure wish those obsessive liberals would turn some of that tedious pouncing and parsing of every move and utterance Sarah Palin makes with the aim of tripping her up in some sort of hypocrisy, or catching her doing some innocent thing for them to twist, blow up and exaggerate so as to put her in the worst possible light …. to a figure in position now to do much more harm to the country than liberals could even dream Sarah could do, a person more than worthy of such obsessive investigation and scrutiny: Barack Hussein Obama.

Start with the Benghazi cover-up. Pretend it was Richard Nixon in power and asleep at the wheel with lax rules and security measures based on liberal utopian ideals rather than the dangerous reality on the ground there as an ambassador and three other Americans were attacked and dragged around and died an agonizing and humiliating death in those filthy Libyan streets during Obama’s ‘Arab Spring’ the western media made sound so rosy. That should make it easier to go after him, rather than dare go after the first ‘black’ President shielded by political-correctness and the race card and his allies in the media to turn you back.

      Right on!!!

Liberals still obsessed with Nixon, but Benghazi, well that happened a looooooooong time ago. Hypocrites, the only standards they have are double-standards.

A Woman in a Hot Air Balloon

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,

“Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.”

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, “You’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said, “You must be a Republican.

“I am,” replied the man. “How did you know?”

“Well,” answered the balloonist, “everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me.”

The man smiled and responded, “You must be an Obama-Democrat.”

“I am,” replied the balloonist. “How did you know?”

“Well,” said the man, “you don’t know where you are — or where you are going. You’ve risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it’s my fault.”

Meeting someone somewhere via hot-air balloon? Must be a Democrat thing. Sounds about as likely as growing the economy by raising taxes!

We are talking about the people who believe that unemployment benefits are the biggest stimulus for the economy (Pelosi), and who fear that “the whole island (Guam) will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize..”. Hank Johnson Democrat, Georgia.
