Father Is Threatened with Divorce If He Keeps His Newborn Son. What Will He Decide?

What would YOU do if your spouse said it was either your child or them?

Samuel Forrest was waiting outside the hospital room while his wife gave birth to their first child. The doctors came out to see him with very serious faces and told him something was wrong with his son. He had Down Syndrome. But when Samuel saw baby Leo for the first time, he said, “He’s beautiful — he’s perfect and I’m absolutely keeping him.”

In Armenia, when a baby is born with a “defect” like Down Syndrome, I guess the doctors automatically give the parents the option of sending the baby straight to an orphanage. Can you imagine??

And that’s what Samuel’s wife wanted to do. She even said that if he kept the child, she would leave him.

There was no way he was giving up his son, and he told her so. So she filed for a divorce.

I simply can’t imagine a mother who would throw away her beautiful baby like that. Being so excited to be a parent, then giving birth and saying, “I don’t want them”?!

On the other hand, what a great dad Leo has. He’s going to change his whole life to take care of his son and make sure he knows that he is wanted and loved. He started a Go Fund Me account to raise money so he can take a part-time job and have more time to be with Leo. They’re moving back to New Zealand to be around family that can help support them.

This little guy got a rough start, but I’m glad he’ll grow up with people that love him.
