PosterContestBannerVidContestBannerNEW YORK, Oct. 7, 2015 – The Christophers are once again offering high school and college students the opportunity to win cash prizes in their annual contests for young people.

The Christophers’ annual Poster Contest for High School Students invites young people in grades 9 through 12 to interpret the theme “You can make a difference.” In a similar vein, the annual Video Contest for College Students asks students to create a film or video (five minutes or less in length) that best communicates the belief that “One person can make a difference.”

The poster contest provides a $1,000 first prize, $500 second prize and $250 third prize. The video contest prizes are $2,000, $1,000 and $500, respectively.

Youth contest coordinator Sarah E. Holinski says, “These contests are an ideal way for students to artistically utilize their God-given talents for the improvement of the world at large. The individual posters and videos truly shine forth as much-needed beacons of light into an increasingly darkening world.”

All poster artwork/photographs and video footage must be original. Entry forms with a more detailed list of rules and deadlines can be found online at www.christophers.org/youth. For more information, contact Sarah E. Holinski at 212-759-4050 or s.holinski@christophers.org

The Christophers, a non-profit organization founded in 1945 by Maryknoll Father James Keller uses the mass media to encourage individuals to use their God-given abilities to change the world for the better. The Christopher motto, adopted from the ancient Chinese proverb, is: “It’s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.”
