Revelation 15: Reverent Worship

Revelation 15: Reverent Worship December 21, 2011

“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations.

4 Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.” -Revelation 15:3-5

The song of the angels holds truth relevant for our spiritual maturity today. First, we are mindful of the works God has done as “Lord God Almighty.” Second, we are reminded that his ways are just and true; Christ is King of the nations.

The result of God’s power and righteousness is reverence by those who encounter him: “For you alone are holy.” God is unique, above all and greater than all. Our only proper response is worship.

Our worship will not be only personal; we are told all nations will come and worship before you. These “nations,” ethnoi in the original Greek language, would represent the approximately 7,000 language groups that exist today. People from all parts of the earth will worship the Lord in the end.

This should cause us great comfort today. God will redeem those he has chosen from all around the earth. Our only proper response, both then and now, is reverent worship.
