This is a series of the ongoing saga of two people with radically different political views. Part one is here. Part two is here.

For reasons of family peace and my mental health, we are not actually watching the Convention, but learn about what happened the next day. Things got a little heated this morning after we read about the Ted Cruz’ “betrayal” at the RNC last night.

The “anyone but Hillary” party is enraged that various Republican leaders, especially the Bushes, Kasich and now Cruz,

refuse to honor their pledge made at the beginning of the campaign and support the elected nominee.

The “anyone but Donald” person says, “At least principle still counts for something here.”

Like many others, I have a deep, visceral dislike of Ted Cruz. Nonetheless, I think what he did was reasonable. Donald did egregiously insult both Ted’s wife and father (along with anyone else who is not white or male or has not offered servile support to the candidate) during the primaries.

How much is a person supposed to swallow in the name of party loyalty?
