Also, housekeeping note, summer voting for the Turing Test was a bit low, so I’ll be putting up the index posts for both rounds today, linking them around a bit, and then posting the results next week or the week after once I’ve doing one more whip for votes

Thanks- what a great song! I was at Mass today in lower Manhattan near the WTC and the deacon spoke of a parishioner, a regular daily mass attendee, who perished on that day.

    From today’s gospel: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/091113.cfm

Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you,
and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.
Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way.

Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep.
Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in this way.”

Sometimes it is hard to believe Jesus’s words. Sometimes it is hard to see past the evil that is so immediately present. But as MLK says “The Arc of the Moral Universe Is Long, but It Bends Toward Justice” When the Arc is long sometimes it is hard to see past the horizon.
