Poem: Hi Culture Lo Culture

Poem: Hi Culture Lo Culture August 10, 2016

I wrote this poem over a decade ago. It speaks to cultural appropriation and racial unrest. It somehow seems even more relevant today. Thanks for reading.

Hi Culture Lo Culture

-dedicated 2 the ancestors past and future !

Eat this knowledge !

Somehow it’s good 4 u.

Salvage the future.

Salvage the monster.

Salvage the culture.

My ears are on my knees.

My knees are on my hands.

My hands are on your aspirations,

What do u make of this gesture ?

J.J. Evans wouldn’t be able to move here.

Stepin’ Fetchit wouldn’t be able to sleep here.

Fruit is very strange here.

Drink this knowledge,

Somehow it’s good for you.
