Many people have not known that Jesus was a Jew. Jesus of Nazareth in Galilee, who lived nearly 2,000 years ago, is clearly the most famous person who has ever lived. For the past more than 1,600 years, Christianity–which purports to be the religion of Jesus or about Jesus–has been the largest religion in the world. Then, how can there be people in this world who don’t know where this guy Jesus came from, that is, where he was born... Read more

The Wall Street Journal writer William A. Galston explained (6/8/21) concerning the gap in Republican voters not being vaccinated for COVID as much as Democratic voters, “They understand freedom as being left alone, to make their own choices, and they resent being told what to do.” Well, maybe that’s freedom, but it isn’t community. And in the Bible, community precedes individual freedom for both Israel in the Old Testament and the church in the New Testament. For instance, regarding Israel,... Read more

Just minutes ago, the USA Team trounced the European Team in the Ryder Cup, held this year in the USA at Whistling Straights, Wisconsin, with a score of 19 to 9. Such an overwhelming win sent a message to the opposition that Europe no longer has a lock on winning this biennial event, which they have done in the past 9 out of 12 times. Their success seemed to have been mostly due to a greater fighting spirit than... Read more

After Day 2 today, the U.S. Team is leading the European Team in the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straights in Wisconsin with a big lead: 11 to 5. Tomorrow, all twelve players on each team will play, unlike the first two days when only eight players on each team played. And the competition will be different tomorrow. It will be twelve single matches whereas these two previous days have been only two-man teams. The big talk yesterday was Bryson... Read more

The news media is now saying the Cyber Ninjas found 360 more votes than the official count did in Maricopa County (where I live) for Joe Biden than for Donald Trump. Thus, they have it 45,469 votes more for Joe Biden than for Donald Trump instead of the official 45,109 count in last year’s presidential election. That makes Arizona Republican state legislators, who called for the recount, look pretty foolish. An official announcement and report are supposed to be made... Read more

U.S. President Joe Biden conducted a “virtual vaccine summit” this morning on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly meeting in New York City. His administration had been criticized when Biden announced last month that on September 20th, two days ago, the U.S. would begin giving booster shots to elderly people and some others as a follow-up to their single COVID shot by John & Johnson or two shots by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna. UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres had vociferously... Read more

I wrote a post on August 5th entitled “Religious Exemption from Vaccine Mandates Is Morally Wrong,” and later, “Catholic Church Not Supporting Religious Exemption for COVID Vaccine Mandates.” See this from the Los Angeles Times today, “Editorial: Dump COVID vaccine religious exemptions. There is no Church of Moderna Disbelievers.” It tells about 1/4 of LAPD are claiming religious exemption from COVID vaccines–which is insincere and thus non-credible by many of them–and a lot more. Read more

The three COVID-19 vaccines that have been used almost exclusively in the U.S.–Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, and J&J–were given “emergency authorization” by the FDA early this year and have proved very effective. Yet there has been serious hesitancy, or blatant refusal, of nearly one third of adult Americans to get the vaccine. This has greatly inhibited the U.S. from achieving the goal of “herd immunity” (at least 80% of the population having antibodies) for COVID-19 in order to stop its spread. Instead,... Read more

I’ve known Butch Harmon since way back before he ever became the world’s best golf swing instructor in the past twenty or thirty years. We lived in the same area just south of Houston, Texas. Butch was the golf pro at the Texas City municipal golf course. Our kids attended the same high school together. I like Butch. If I had a do-over pro golf career, I would have gone to Butch for some swing instruction. I think his dad,... Read more

Top journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costas have written a book about ex-President Donald Trump, the third Trump book for Woodward, entitled Peril. It will be released next week. They claim to have interviewed 200 people who had insight into Trump and his presidency. Advance copies were given to a few publications this week, and they have been publishing many of the sordid and shocking details from the book. One detail regards the final political rally called “Unite the Right”... Read more
