Tim Allen Jokes He Wants to Identify as ‘Asian Woman’

Comedian Tim Allen has never been known to shy away from controversy.  His sitcom “Last Man Standing” is now — finally — returning to the airwaves, and the comedian is sending a powerful message about the lunacy of identity politics.

Recently, Allen was in Manhattan where he was discussing what the show will include — namely, a lot of nude scenes. (Gasp!)  “I’m going to identify as a woman. We’re going to be very politically correct. I’m going to identify as an Asian woman that wants to be a European man.

He went on to say, “I stay where I am, but in my head, we will do the journey of what it’s like to be an Asian woman in a European man’s body. You’ll see I eat a lot of Ramen, it will be a lot of Asian dishes. It’ll be subtle.”

The “Last Man Standing” is a revival of a show that was canceled in spite of its popularity last year.  People wondered if the cancellation was due to the show’s politically incorrect content.  Allen doesn’t seem to want to change his ways, however.

“I don’t want to be PC, and for all of us in the stand-up world — all of us are seeing this and feeling this, and it’s a little dangerous and uncomfortable that there is things you can’t say because it might hurt people’s feelings,” he lamented.

Allen argued words “don’t matter.” The comedian said it’s the meaning behind the words — the intention — that makes a difference.

While Fox was already interested in rebooting “Last Man Standing,” the incredible success of ABC’s revived sitcom “Roseanne” certainly encouraged the network to move forward with the idea.

“We were emboldened by ‘Roseanne,’” Dana Walden, chairman and CEO of Fox Television Group, told reporters earlier this month.

It’s gratifying to see celebrities who just simply don’t care whether or not they are criticized for their conservatism.

Can’t wait to see the reprisal of “Last Man Standing!”
