My friend PJ Smyth was on Good Morning Britain this morning here in the UK discussing his father’s abuse of him and many others. The hosts described this as the biggest abuse scandal in the history of the Church of England. PJ was interviewed alongside one of the other survivors, Andy Morse.
The See No Evil documentary can be seen tonight and tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 4 and will be also available on their streaming service. The cover-up around Smyth Sr.s abuse led to the resignation of the previous Archbishop of Canterbury.
This documentary will have desperately tragic and upsetting moments, but will also be full of hope, forgiveness, justice and reconciliation. Well done PJ and everyone else involved. This is a must see for all of us as we think about how such things can be prevented, & how the survivors can be better helped.
I am so proud of PJ for speaking out and his determination that his family becomes known as a healing family.

In a previous article I also share the trailer for this documentary and some short video clips from PJ this week. Please join me in praying that this documentary will have the desired effect: brining some sense of healing to the many survivors, and leading to churches and other organizations examining how this kind off thing can be prevented in the future.
