I hope you like the new look round here. I hope you are not too disturbed that I am looking back at you from the top of this page! There is also a nice four hands icon, reflecting the image of four hands to represent diversity and mutual support. We have also tidied up the menu navigation so it should be much easier for you to navigate your way round and get an introduction to who and what this site... Read more

I have not said much personally about the current movement sweeping the globe sparked by the evil racist murder of George Floyd.   But on Facebook I have been sharing some voices of some of my friends and some from public figures.  I thought I would collate these here  so those who are either not on Facebook or didn’t see them can see them here, and so they would be in one place to make it easier to look at... Read more

Join me as I interview leading Christian thinker and author Prof John Lennox. What does human and artificial intelligence tell us about the existance of God and our place in the universe? We mention Dr. Jordan B. Peterson several times during this discussion as well as Timothy Keller. Few people are really challenging the roots of our defective modern culture more than Peterson, Keller, and Lennox. The goal is to stimulate people to really think. This video is not hard... Read more

Perhaps one of the most stimulating and deep thinkers in the world today is Jordan Peterson. These two video clips come from one of his most challenging full length videos ever. It is part of a playlist with two other videos on his belief in God. I embed the playlist at the end of this post. When asked a question Peterson will often answer “I have spent years thinking about that”. Not for him a trite careless answer. He is at the... Read more

A popular old Indian hymn, which has also been adapted and set to modern music, declares: I have decided to follow Jesus No turning back, no turning back. The cross before me, the world behind me No turning back, no turning back. These words were originally spoken by the first Christian from a remote village in India. They were his reply when he was asked to deny his faith or else be executed with his whole family. His heartfelt conviction... Read more

This morning we heard that the UK economy shrank by 20% in April. The human cost is astronomical. And churches are reaching out to meet that need. Both physically with huge numbers of people depending on food banks staffed and run mostly by churches. But people are also looking to the church for spiritual needs too. 70% of churches have seen growth in attendance since the lockdown as online services attract people who have never stepped foot inside a church.... Read more

Something special is happening here in Britain. Similar reports are coming in from around the world.  I never imagined I would be able to type the next sentence: Since lock down 1 in 4 British people have attended an online service.  That is an astonishing figure. And if you look at young adults the proportion is even higher at one in three! All this was reported in The Guardian which is not exactly known for being pro-church. And in breaking news... Read more

Three ways to save a life 1. donate blood     2. Donate Stem Cells     3. Donate your covid19 antibodies Find out more. One day I might need someone else’s blood to be given to me so I can live. Actually so might you. When we take communion we remember the death of our Lord and in some mysterious way we take his blood into us. His blood was shed for us not in part, but in its... Read more

So following yesterday’s change to the advice (and it was always only advice!)  we decided to have a go at walking out. This is a great little bonus extra to add to my ongoing series on Corona Hope that you might find interesting. It was a bit scary. But we decided to go really early when many would  still be in bed. We drove to a big open space with wide paths. And we were fully ready to come back... Read more

There are moments when any freedom loving, justice seeking, honourable person MUST speak up. This is one such moment. My pastor Tope Koleoso spoke out wisely and deeply personally about one such injustice this morning. He was of course speaking about the horrendous event in the USA. I have very little to add except that we simply cannot tolerate the cold blooded murder of a black suspect by a white policeman in the 21st Century. I am also deeply concerned... Read more
