Each week I have been drawing an oracle card from my Flower Magic deck, today it was Begonia which signifies ‘balance’. So, I am sharing the card along with other herbs, plants, foods, tarot cards and crystals that correspond with the intent of balance. April is a lovely month particularly for those that like to garden (that includes me). The end of March/beginning of April will find me outside in my small back garden tidying up and preparing for the new season. Kitchen Witch Bakes for March March is often when we start to see the first signs of spring or if Mother Nature is being fickle (as she so often is) we can also get snow! But it does have the feel that spring isn’t too far around the corner. March also hosts the spring equinox, or Ostara as it is often called by modern pagans. Darkness and light are in balance as the earth begins to stir. And of course, this month includes chocolate eggs, which is never a bad thing. Read more
Over the years I have always had at least one altar, usually more (much to the dismay of my ever patient husband). Each altar has been filled with paraphernalia, beautiful items purchased from very talented creative artists and craftspeople. Added to with fresh flowers from the garden, herbs, crystals and any amount of candles. Each altar gets bits and bobs popped on it from walks and adventures; pebbles, shells, leaves and similar natural items. Any spell workings also find their way there too. It ends up with quite a lot of clutter. Then every so often I clear it all off, dispose of the natural items to the compost, cleanse the crystals, dust all the statues and give it a good clean.
