Well, that didn’t take long. I wrote about how Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting rejected the label of “feminist” in the most recent edition of Redbook. It appears she was promptly “Twitter-shamed” by her interview.
She responded, saying her words were “taken out of context:”
“I’m completely blessed and grateful that strong women have paved the way for my success along with many others. I apologize if anyone was offended. Anyone that truly knows me, knows my heart and knows what I meant.” ❤️
What this proves to me is not whether this actress is a feminist. It proves feminists are NOT about choice at all. They are about conforming.
“Be just like us, talk just like us, and use the same labels that we use or else, we’ll make you regret it.”
Kaley seems like a great woman and a great wife. I wish feminists could accept strong women without demanding that every person conform to their view of womanhood.
