I literally cannot believe this.
On Friday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was speaking at a public town hall when a woman asked him a question using the word “mankind.”
She asked, “So, the World Mission Society Church of God is truly growing and changing society through our volunteer work. We have received the Queen’s Award, in the U.K; we have received – I have a question‑
Trudeau encouraged her to go ahead and ask a question, as if he were slightly annoyed at the fact that she kept going on and on.
“We have received many awards throughout the whole world. However, unfortunately in Canada, our volunteering as a charitable religious organization is extremely difficult. Extremely. That’s why in actuality, we cannot do free volunteering to help our neighbors in need as we truly desire. So that’s why we came here today, to ask you to also look into the policies that religious charitable organizations have in our legislation so that it can also be changed because maternal love is the love that is going to change the future of mankind. So we’d like you to —“
Oops! That’s when Trudeau interrupted her. “We like to say people-kind,” he said. “… not necessarily mankind.”
Wow.
I guess it took a male politician to “mansplain” political correctness to this lady, who happens to belong to the World Mission Society Church of God. This church believes in “the Heavenly Mother, as testified in the Bible.”
She was fine with being corrected. “There we go, exactly,” she said. “Yes, thank you.”
“We can all learn from each other,” Trudeau said. Then, the crowd erupted into cheers. Yes, cheers!
Has anyone ever heard of manners? Even if someone misspeaks, you don’t — as a person of power — interrupt them and embarrass them by correcting them, unless the error is egregious. In this case, it wasn’t even an error. “Mankind” has always referred to all of humanity. The woman wasn’t wrong. Trudeau was trying to show everyone just how amazing liberal and politically correct he is.
But this is what feminism gets us. Men who think they are being courageous by interrupting women to explain just how sensitive to women they are.
So dumb.
