Little Boy With Congenital Heart Defect Becomes ‘Junior Police Chief’

Little Boy With Congenital Heart Defect Becomes ‘Junior Police Chief’ July 18, 2015

Daidap

This is a great story from Make-A-Wish in Hawaii. He makes such a cute little policeman!

Daidap is only 5 years old, and he already dreamed of being a police officer. This cute little guy has a congenital heart defect and has gone through 9 open-heart surgeries. The Honolulu police department partnered with Make-A-Wish to turn his dream into reality!

They gave him a custom-made uniform, his own badge and mini-patrol car, and named him “junior police chief.” Then Daidap rode along with them to Dave & Buster’s for lunch and a neighborhood block party in celebration.

The Chief of Police Louis Kealoha said, “This is a special day that we get to recognize courage, resiliency and persistence, and this is through Daidap.”

Daidap’s mom cried tears of joy at seeing her son so happy!
