What a tragedy!  Many of you saw the faith based film, “Little Boy,” which was a great film that celebrates the love between a father and son.

Well, family members of its director, Alejandro Monteverde, were kidnapped sixteen days ago.  His father and brother Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde were taken when they left their home.  The kidnappers demanded a ransom, which was paid.  Horribly, the kidnappers didn’t keep their promise not to kill them.

According to the L.A. Times:

Monteverde’s brother, Juan Manuel, was a business partner at “La Pecerita,” previously known as “El Callejón de los Milagros” in Tampico, Tamaulipas, restaurant that has allegedly reported drug cartel activity in the past. It is well known that the south of Tamaulipas and the north of Veracruz are lawless territories with high rates of crime, primarily caused by drug cartel members.

David Henrie, who starred in “Little Boy,” (as well as Wizards of Waverly Place and How I Met Your Mother) shared condolences on social media:

I’m so sorry to hear this, and I hope that you’ll join me in praying for this family.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
