Last week, I wrote about how Kim Kardashian revealed how much weight she’s gained with her second pregnancy. (Her honesty caused me to reveal how much I have gained!) I think it’s awesome that women are being open about what pregnancy is like, about how awesome motherhood is, and how the most important thing in life is not your waist line. Kim has gained fifty-two pounds, which caused the snarky New York Post to report:
Medical professionals say a woman should gain anywhere from 25 to 35 pounds during pregnancy, but many boldfacers take the old “eating for two” adage to heart.
Then, the piece goes on to “fat shame” celebrity women who gained more than the quoted but vague “medical professionals.”
Who gained more than this writer thinks she should’ve? Beyonce, Leah Remini, Pink, Jenny McCarthy, and Jessica Simpson.
Nice.
I wonder how much the writer gained during HER pregnancy? Maybe she doesn’t have kids, because usually women who have gone through the 9 months wouldn’t shame other women for this sort of thing.
I cannot stand the criticism women receive during pregnancy!
I don’t think 25-35lbs is too realistic for most women. (I don’t know anyone who’s stayed in that margin, except my mom!)
No one has the right to say sh*t about weight gain during pregnancy… And you know what’s funny about this article, it’s coming from the NY Post, the women there probably claim to be “feminist” but clown on women celebs weight gain………
Gag me.
How typical is that!
