“Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends—but only one mother in the whole world.” — Kate Douglas Wiggins
I think what’s great about motherhood is that one day you also get to be a grandmother! My mom is so great with her grandkids that it warms my heart. So, I guess on Mother’s Day, I should also note how wonderful she is with my kids.
Here’s a great quote that perfectly summarizes what it’s like to be a grandmother. This one is by Erma Bombeck: “A grandmother pretends she doesn’t know who you are on Halloween.”
That’s perfect, but this one is even better, by Lois Wyse: “A mother becomes a true grandmother the day she stops noticing the terrible things her children do because she is so enchanted with the wonderful things her grandchildren do.”
