And the Winner Is… Iron Dog Race 2013 2013-02-25T15:26:50-05:00

Sorry it’s taken me so long to post you on what happened at the Iron Dog.  (Fairbanks is a long way from Wasilla!)  You may have already heard that Dad and his partner Scott Davis didn’t win this year.  They covered the 2,000-mile path from Big Lake, then to Nome, then on to the finish in Fairbanks, and ended up in the top five.  According to the Fairbanks Daily News Miner, they finished at 2:40 p.m. with a trail time of 39:20:33 and an average speed of 54.78 mph.  Congratulations to the winners, Team 17 — Marc McKenna and Dusty VanMeter!

Birch Leaf Photography was there at the finish line, so I’ll post more photos in just a bit.  In the meantime, we’re so proud of you, Dad!
