TULSA, OK – Attendees at a local Christian theology conference, held at Oral Roberts University, were shocked Saturday evening when Larry David, actor and director, began to speak.  There was a large amount of confusion as the expected speaker at this time was pastor and theologian, John Piper. The theme of Dr. Piper’s message was advertised as “How To Find Meaning In Life and Not Waste It”.

“We all thought it was Dr. Piper until he opened his mouth then we knew something wasn’t right,” said Jimmy Andersen, an attendee at the conference. “we were expecting encouraging words about the grace and love God and got nothing but a string of swear words and negative statements.”

Reports say the audience sat in stunned silence for minutes as Larry David began a discourse endorsing the themes of Nihilism; this is a similar theme to the popular 90’s Television show he wrote for, Seinfeld.

Local event planners are investigating how the mix-up happened but many suspect it to be related to, what some are calling, the “striking resemblance” between Larry David and Dr. John Piper.

“I just wanted laughs, that’s really all I was after” was Mr. David’s only comment to about the theme of his speech and mistaken identity.

Dr. Piper has yet to comment directly on the incident, stating that he was unaware of what happened as he was busy preparing to speak at the American Association of Christian Counselors Conference later in the month.
