One of the hallmarks of wingnut thinking is that they often make arguments that you simply can’t believe that they really believe. How can they not see the glaring false premises, we wonder. Here’s a perfect example from Bryan Fischer, claiming that Martin Luther King didn’t believe in separation of church and state. Why? Because he talked about God.

Bryan Fischer does his best Cindy Jacobs impersonation, spinning a lurid tale of his history of fighting demons and casting them out of children and himself. I think maybe Fischer and Jacobs should form a superhero duo to fight demons. Their chief weapons: surprise, fear and a bottomless bowl of spaghetti.

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who show a staggering lack of self-awareness, accusing others of having their own worst traits. This one goes to the Obama administration after putting out this statement that will likely leave your jaw agape at the chutzpah.

I’m sure you’ll be happy to know that Bryan Fischer doesn’t just rant ignorantly and hatefully about gay people and atheists, he’s also a scientist. You’re going to crack up at this diatribe about the 2nd law of thermodynamics (which he conflates with the 1st law, then doesn’t, then does again), which he says is found in the Bible.

It’s really quite amusing to me listening to the David Barton types trying to find some connection between the Constitution and the Bible. Bryan Fischer delivered a ridiculous screed claiming that the basis of the 4th Amendment is the “inviolability of the home,” which is found in Joshua 7. Here’s the video:

Now that the Boy Scouts of America has voted to allow gay teens to join troops, Bryan Fischer says that BSA now stands for the “Boy Sodomizers of America.” Right Wing Watch rewinds the clock to February, when Fischer claimed that this change in policy was completely unthinkable and would never happen.

If you want the best example of weapons-grade projection strong enough to win the Bryan Fischer Award, sometimes you just have to go to the original: Bryan Fischer. On his radio show this week he claimed that “secular fundamentalists” are the “American taliban.”

Tucker Carlson, as loathsome a little twerp as you will ever find in politics, and his Daily Caller have been steadily beating the drum against Sen. Robert Menendez for allegedly engaging some hookers on a trip abroad. The Rude Pundit digs into the archives and finds out what Carlson was saying about Sen. David Vitter when he was proven and admitted, not just accused, of doing the same thing.

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who display a staggering lack of self-awareness, accusing their enemies of having the same traits and the same behavior that they themselves exhibit in spades. Here’s Pat Robertson claiming that Islam is not a religion, it’s “an economic and political system with a religious veneer.”

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who exhibit a staggering lack of self-awareness, accusing their opponents and critics of their own worst traits. And this one is a doozy. Roger Ailes, the head of Fox News, says that President Obama is trying to make Americans hate each other.

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who display a staggering lack of self-awareness, accusing their opponents of their own worst traits and engaging in rank hypocrisy. Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel has a Worldnutdaily column that deserves such an award.

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who display a staggering lack of self-awareness and who accuse their opponents of their own worst attributes. Justice Scalia has long displayed this attribute, often accusing the liberals on the court of doing the very things he does routinely. Here’s his most recent example:
