Politifact looks at a bunch of the claims made by Glenn Beck at his rally last weekend and the results are about what you’d expect. Out of 17 factual claims, just two were rated as true or mostly true. The rest ranged from half-truths to false to pants-on-fire lies.

Media Matters put out a video contrasting some of Glenn Beck’s self-righteous claims at his rally with some of the crazy things he’s said on Fox.

That’s what he told an audience last weekend, that he may be going blind due to macular dystrophy. We can only hope that this is not true. If he goes blind, who will wander the streets of Manhattan looking for secret conspiratorial messages in the murals and artwork on buildings? No one else has the ability to see such things. The decoder ring only works in his hands, apparently.

No one went more over the top attacking Obama nominees for (usually) minor tax problems than Glenn Beck. All the more ironic, then, that Politico reports on Glenn Beck’s own personal tax problems over the years.

Their tax issues are just one indicator of “a culture of corruption among some of the left,” Beck declared just last month in a segment on his hugely popular Fox News television show, in which he branded Geithner, Killefer, Solis and a handful of other Obama nominees “tax cheats,” whom he wouldn’t trust “with my children, let alone my children’s future.”

Mocking the excuses offered by the nominees, Beck sarcastically intoned: “Oh, the tax thing, it was an accident. It was my husband’s fault. I didn’t do it, he did it. I didn’t mean to do it. I was just working hard for the people.”

You have to listen to this bizarre, angry screed from Glenn Beck. He absolutely goes off on a caller over healthcare, literally screaming incoherently at her and finally telling her to get off his phone and calling her a pinhead. O’Reilly would be proud. Why the hell does anyone listen to this nut?
