Rep. Allen West makes a strong case for the Bryan Fischer Award with this Glenn Beck-level Godwinism, comparing the Democratic Party to the Nazis and throwing in a little faux persecution for good measure.

That seems to be the bizarre, contradictory message coming from the wingnuts who are throwing a fit about the new defense authorization bill repealing Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. That repeal is intended to remove the final vestige of the ban on gay people serving openly but the 101st Fighting Lunatic Brigade thinks it’s all about having sex with animals.
Glenn Beck had Michele Bachmann on his show the other day and together they bashed those evil parents who sent their 8 year old son to confront her about her anti-gay bigotry. And he wept about how terribly unfair it is that people call her a homophobe:
The complete collapse of Dennis Miller’s ability to be funny over the last few years should convince everyone that, with rare exceptions, conservative just aren’t funny. And when Glenn Beck tries to be, it will just make you cringe. Here’s a clip from a new conservative alternative to the Daily Show that Beck is running on his network. Prepare to gape in astonishment:
Warner Todd Huston, one of the more irrational wingnuts you’ll ever run across (and yes, I know that’s like declaring one of the Spice Girls more annoying than the others), reveals the core problem with fanatics of all stripes — no one is ever pure enough for them. He’s upset because conservative columnist and talk show host Michael Medved isn’t buying in to his paranoid delusions about that terrible Christmas tree tax.
The Worldnutdaily’s “reporting” on the Occupy Wall Street protests has been absolutely predictable. In article after article, they have tried to paint the movement as communist, fascist and — worst of all, apparently — “not spontaneous.” Aaron Klein’s recent article with the headline “More proof! Occupy Wall Street not ‘spontaneous'” is a perfect example. It follows the Glenn Beck strategy — if you can find any way at all to link X to Y, even if it’s only that they happen to agree on an issue, then X must be the dark force behind Y. And X, of course, is inevitably George Soros.
You know things are bad for Republican presidential candidates when John Podhoretz, one of the crown princes of American conservatism, is hammering the candidates for being little more than a bad joke, as he does in the New York Post.
Tea Party Nation leader Judson Phillips, who is absolutely cuckoo for cocoa puffs, says that the Occupy Wall Street protests are just a bunch of communists and Nazis. Seriously, I couldn’t make this up. Right Wing Watch has the email he sent out to supporters:
Let’s see, so far we’ve had the occupy protesters called Nazis and communists, and Glenn Beck has claimed that they’re going to kill everyone, starting with him. It’s about time some wingnut compared them to terrorists, right? Gary Bauer, step right up.
People for the American Way has a handy guide to the lineup of cranks and bigots speaking at this weekend’s Values Voters Summit. It includes Bryan Fischer, Glenn Beck, Jerry Boykin and many more. And of course, nearly all of the Republican presidential candidates seeking to kiss their rings and appeal to the most ignorant and authoritarian audience they can find.
