Blog Awards!

Blog Awards!

I am so silly! I meant to mention/thank you/pass along these two blog awards I was blessed enough to receive from two wonderful ladies, Michelle at Musings of a Catholic Lady, and Rebecca at Feel My Love.

I intended to include these in my 7 quick-takes…and then I got distracted and forgot! SO here we go:

To follow the rules in accepting this award, I am required to tell 10 things about myself that you may or may not know. Let’s see if I can get 10:

1. I have had a stuffed duck named Jack since I was 16. He’s currently living on a chair, waiting for a little one to play with.

2. I don’t smoke, do drugs, or drink much at all. But I love me some Diet Coke. I have one (or two) every day. I know I should probably give it up, but I won’t.

3. I really like shows like CSI and Law and Order, even though I know they’re really quite violent and probably inappropriate. It’s a guilty pleasure.

4. If I hadn’t wanted to go to college, I would have become a make-up artist. It’s part of the reason I started a Mary Kay business, so I could fulfill my wish to play with makeup and help others do so too. :0

5. I have a tattoo. The rosary, on my left shoulder blade-area.

6. I think that’s all.

I am passing this award on to Maggie at From the Heart. Maggie is a kindred spirit, for sure, and she writes beautifully about her faith, marriage, and life. She’s an inspiration to me! Thanks Maggie!

And the second award, given by the wonderful Rebecca at Feel my Love! Rebecca blogs with passion about her life, faith, and of course, WV football! I love this girl. 🙂

I appreciate this, the Circle of Friends Award. Being in a new city, and being a 20-something, married, NFP using, orthodox Catholic, doesn’t exactly make for easy close friend acquisition. But I’ve “met” some really wonderful, faithful, awesome women through the blog-o-sphere.

The rules:
1. Post award on your blog with link love to the person who gave it to you ~ check, (see above)

2. Post 5 things you LOVE LOVE LOVE

  • Atticus, my hero-lawyer husband
  • being Catholic
  • Christmas trees
  • dark chocolate Recee’s PB cups
  • Mama Mary
3. Pass the award on to 5 bloggers you LOVE LOVE LOVE
Rae at No Wealth But Life. She blogs in such a thoughtful way, and isn’t afraid to challenge the way that people think. I enjoy her thoughts so much!
Elizabeth at That Married Couple. Elizabeth and I just finished our first “virtual book club”, reading The Authentic Catholic Woman, and having two discussions on it. Elizabeth blogs with humor and insight about her marriage, modesty, and life in general!
Alison at Matching Moonheads. This NFP instructor blogs with humor about NFP related topics, her faith, and life. I’ve learned quite a bit about NFP from reading her awesome blog!
Jess at Homemaking in the Church Year. Jess is an Anglican homeschool-ing mom, and writer. I love reading her posts on fiction writing, and her book reviews. I also enjoy reading about Anglican faith insights through her blog!
– All the ladies at Building Cathedrals. I love the format of this blog; seven women, all Princeton grads, all Catholic moms. They each write about matters of culture, faith, and family, very often with lots of humor! Especially I enjoy Right Said Red’s posts about her daughter Therese, who died shortly after birth, about 8 years ago. So beautiful.
Thanks ladies, and have a wonderful weekend!
