Help, Help! as the toddler says oh, 75 times a day, give or take a million. Since I’m in the home stretch of this pregnancy, my thoughts have turned to what life might be like after these sweet babes arrive. Only for a minute at a time or so, because I’m trying to not let the panic of having two newborns and a toddler settle in until absolutely necessary. But, as I study my little diaper bag, I’m struck that... Read more

** I absolutely 100% thought this five favorites thing was on Tuesdays. False. Ah well. We all know why. Because pregnant ladies got brains with more holes in them than swiss cheese. So now you get my 5 favs a day early, you lucky people! ** Hey yo, I’m still pregnant yo. With twins.  30 weeks and 4 days. I’m trying really hard to not spend every waking moment complaining about how uncomfortable my body is, what with the 8... Read more

I’m baaaaacccccckkkkkk. 7. Maggie started preschool again this week. She’s going M-F in the morning, and she is super excited. She didn’t even cry on her first day or today. Big girl. She’s now part of the Butterfly/Caterpillar class. Too much cute. 6. In other news, I’m still pregnant. They are still a boy and a girl. However, they now kick and punch each other with reckless abandon, mostly beginning at 11 pm. It’s actually pretty mind blowing that two... Read more

7. First off, I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and well-wishes (and guesses!) from my last post. They mean so much. I’m always amazed at the kindness of internet folk (well, the internet folk who frequent here anyway…lets keep those riffraff out.) After three hours at the hospital having 4 different ultrasounds (can’t wait for that bill!) I’m happy to say that we have two healthy little peanuts in here, and they totally phtotbombed each... Read more

I was 20 weeks on Friday. Since I’ll probably make it to 36-37 weeks with this pregnancy (the average gestational age at birth for twins is 36 weeks), I am more than halfway through this pregnancy. Even though I have been pregnant for about 5 months, and known about the twins for 4 of those 5, I still look down at my stomach at least once a day and marvel, There are two people in there. Two little hearts, pumping... Read more

For this week’s takes, I’m going to share my summer reading list. Some finished, some not quite. 7. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver This book is the non-fiction account of the author’s attempt at living for one year only eating food that is grown, raised, or created in the county where she lives. So fascinating. I am about half-way through. 6. Being Consumed: Economics and Christian Desire by William Cavanaugh Just started this one.... Read more

7. You know what’s awesome? Preschool mini-camp. Maggie attended m-w-f this week from 9-1 and it was wonderful. She got have fun with other kids, splash in water, play, and eat lunch. Then I got to do something which I rarely get to do. Go shopping alone. That’s right. Be jealous. It’s shocking how much I can get done when I shop alone. It really is. In fact, I was able to get so much done that I am basically... Read more

Tomorrow is my mother’s 55th birthday. At least it would be, if she hadn’t died just a month before her 33rd birthday. I don’t want that to get lost, or to just be a quick take. So today I’m posting a poem for my mother. She gave me her eyes, her quick temper, and her loving heart. She gave me life. Your truly as a peanut, and mi madre. When I am Asked Lisel Mueller When I am asked how... Read more

I finally got around to having Atticus take a decent picture of my growing bump, so I decided to participate in What I Wore Sunday. It’s finally hot here. Like real summer time hot. So I wore a sleeveless shirt to Mass. I usually would wear a little something over my shoulders, but the only one I have that matched my outfit was in the wash. Ah well. The Outfit: Skirt: Liz Lange Maternity from Target Top: Banana Republic (not... Read more
