I’m back again. We returned home from our trip to PA on Monday night and we all made it! 7. But before our trip, we celebrated Maggie’s half-birthday with a party for her friends. For the 3rd year in a row we were unable to have it outside. Maybe next year? It stormed for the whole party, and then the sun came out right when everyone was leaving. How nice. We had a great visit with Maggie’s god parents and... Read more

Hi there. How embarassing. It seems that nearly two months have gone by since I last wrote anything. Oops. That was not intentional. A lot has happened since my last post. Maggie finished pre-school for the summer. I was sick a lot. And tired. Too tired to do much besides stare at the TV while eating saltines. Oh, and keeping the toddler alive. But since then I’ve seen the babies again, little jelly beans. And Maggie and I got to... Read more

So, ok. I just have one take this week, followed by 6 takes of me freaking out about the first take. 7. I had my 7 weeks ultrasound yesterday morning. I was laying there on the table, and couldn’t see the screen, and the tech was quiet for a few minutes, so I started freaking out internally. Then she looks at us, very matter-of-factly, and says, “So. You’re having twins.” TWINS! As in, two babies. You know, one more than... Read more

7. This week I attended my very first Mother’s Day tea at Maggie’s pre-school. Oh my goodness is was so sweet. Homemade placemats for mom and Maggie, handprint flower centerpieces, decorate your own cookies, and macaroni necklaces. So fancy. I also had a homemade flower corsage. Maggie and I with her teacher, Ms. S. 6. Speaking of Mother’s Day. We’re going to my favorite restaurant for this year, same as we did the last two years with M. It’s Traders... Read more

For the last installment of “No More Mommy Wars” (for now at least, maybe if there is more interest we can expand the series later this summer!), Bonnie of A Knotted Life shares with us about her somewhat surprising (to her) decision not to co-sleep. Thank you so much and welcome Bonnie! ************************************************************ We don’t co-sleep and we like it that way. When I was pregnant with my firstborn I was preparing for a homebirth and breastfeeding, so it’s not... Read more

Maggie of the lovely From the Heart volunteered to write about her experience with first an emergency, and then scheduled, c-section. She writes with candor, humor, and wit. I am so grateful to Maggie for sharing her story here. ************************************************** When I was pregnant with my son Joe I had big plans on having an all-natural vaginal birth. Every day I watched A Baby Story on TLC and got chills at each woman’s delivery. I imagined my own labor pains... Read more

In today’s installment of No More Mommy Wars, Kaitilin of More Like Mary, More Like Me writes about her experience with infant sleep. I am so grateful to her for sharing her story here. On Baby Sleep When Sarah asked if I was interested in writing a post for the No More Mommy Wars series, I immediately knew which topic I should write about. For me, no parenting topic has been the source of more judgement than sleep. Or should I say... Read more

The “No More Mommy Wars” series is back! And to start off our last week of the series, the lovely Louise is here sharing some of her thoughts on potty training and pressure. *************************************************** At two and a half, my daughter Elise is wild about princesses and their fancy feminine attire.  She insists on wearing dresses daily, so it’s not too often that you’ll see her in just a shirt and pants.  But when she does sport her casual clothing,... Read more

This week’s quick takes are dedicated to stuff I love. I keep meaning to participate in Hallie’s Five Favs, but then Tuesday always sneaks up on me and I miss it. What’s up with that, Tuesday? 7. This. Oh my goodness, this. Hands down, the best angry cat. 6. This stuff. I recently discovered Zen green tea. It has lemongrass and spearmint in it, and makes it so delicious. But please, don’t misunderstand. Nothing can ever take the place of... Read more

This week’s quick takes are going to be quick. Imagine that. 7. My dear friend and Maggie’s godmother Elizabeth visited this week! We had a lot of fun drinking mango margaritas and wine, taking our kids to the Children’s Museum, and watching awesome TV shows like Say Yes to the Dress and Parks and Rec. Be jealous. It was sweet. And Maggie told us she “needed some wine”. Am I winning or what? 6. I have a cd of ACDC... Read more
