We and the whole world should be thankful in Sri Lanka that the ultra-bloody separatist group the Tamil Tigers–inventors of the suicide belt, recruiters of child warriors, murderers of Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi as well as thousands and thousands more–have accepted defeat, their leader having been killed and their movement giving up the fight. The Tamil Tigers were NOT Muslims but Hindus–someone should study how suicide bombers fit with that religion–and the issue was an ethnic one, the demand for a separate nation for the Tamil tribes.
Also, Russia has officially ended its so-called Chechnya counter-terrorism operation. A Chechnyan strongman has apparently taken over in that region whom the Russians can live with.
