Remember Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day, a holiday that goes back to the custom of decorating the graves of Civil War veterans. From that, it became the day to honor those who gave their lives fighting for their country. It then became for many families, like mine, the day to go to the cemetery to put flowers on the graves of other family members who have died. I guess now it is observed primarily as the day to kick off the summer. But let’s put memory back into Memorial Day.
