Good evening. I am the Rev. Dr. Jeff Hood from Denton, Texas. I have come a long way to pray with you. Will you please oblige me by bowing your heads? God we come to you from many different religions, nationalities, races, classes, orientations, genders, abilities and various other categories and identifications…some ascribed by our self and some ascribed to our self. Regardless of where we come from, we come together tonight knowing that the only way that we will see justice and righteousness played out in this world is through coming together. Tonight is an occasion of both celebration and expectation. We celebrate the accomplishment of Chief Hood…but we also stand firmly in expectation of the mighty movements of justice and righteousness that are coming to fruition through this administration. God thank you for this moment. Let us all depart from this place with the confidence of knowing that our new Chief has been your child for a long time. Let the children of God say Amen…say Amen…and glory glory hallelujah Amen.
