We gather three months to the day after the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department murdered Joseph Hutcheson. We are not far at all from the spot where Joseph pulled his truck up on the curb in desperate need of help. We can see where Joseph walked up that hill in desperate need of help. We know that on up that hill are the doors to the lobby where Joseph entered in desperate need of help. Instead of help…Joseph was slammed to the ground and murdered.
It seems fitting that we would gather on Halloween. While everyone dresses up in costumes and goes out tonight for the latest scare, we the gathered here know that the real house of horrors is right in there. In his hour of need, Joseph Hutcheson received death. I hold Sheriff Lupe Valdez responsible. There is nothing more frightening than the deputized bullies who killed Joseph and their powerful protector.
On this day…make no mistake…we are strong and want the world to know that we will not stop fighting for justice for Joseph Hutcheson. God is with us.
