It’s Monday again! Here are this week’s Monday Musings! Enjoy! 🙂     1) I woke up from the most delightful dream this morning. It was one of those dreams where you’re in between sleeping and waking up and every emotion experienced in the dream feels heightened. As lovely as the dream was, the realization that none of it actually happened was a bit sad.  Nevertheless, it was still a deliciously wonderful dream!   2) This past weekend, I went kayaking on the... Read more

“How are you?”     That question is asked quite frequently of all of us. Typically the question is just another form of greeting. “Hey, how are ya?” and in the very next breath the inquirer is onto the next subject, without hardly allowing you the chance to try to answer the question. Since we’ve been trained that most people don’t truly want to know how we’re doing, and that they question is merely a conversation filler, we typically reply with, “I’m... Read more

7 o’clock came and went…. No one came. 7:15 rolled around… Still no one.   I chatted with the volunteers and gave them a tour. It was the first evening of the Bible study I’d started at the local pregnancy center. Eight volunteers arrived ready and eager to serve. After half an hour of no one showing up, I allowed most of the volunteers to go home. 7:45… One person arrived. Bible study was held for the one lady that came. Her... Read more

I have an exciting announcement! I’m Moving!   I haven’t shared this information with a ton of people yet, but I’m very pleased to announce that I’ll be moving from Maryland right into the heart of D.C. When I accepted my position at Concerned Women for America last summer, I was invited to move into a house in Maryland with three girls I went to college with. (more…) Read more

It’s that time again. Another month has come and gone, and I’m here to tell you all about the joys of June!     Unfortunately I didn’t get around to writing and publishing my May Joy Project. My sister got extremely sick the end of May (she’s still sick), so I was obviously preoccupied with that. The month of June has been a hard one. My heart has been aching with things going on at home and wondering whether or... Read more

I love music. I’m almost always listening to something, even if it’s just background music while I do household chores. Isn’t it such a sweet thing how the Lord designed music? It can take our hearts places that mere words simply cannot. Listen to one of Beethoven’s Symphonies. Words fall short, but the notes strung perfectly together can move you to tears. Over the past few months, one particular album has been on repeat. The Art of Celebration – Rend Collective   ... Read more

June held one of the top 10 moments of my life and I wanted to share it with you!     We do not remember days, we remember moments. – Cesare Pavese   Some moments in life hold a special kind of sweetness, and the moment I’m going to share with you was definitely one of the most precious I’ve experienced. “Monday Musings” was started in order to be a breath of fresh air, because let’s face it. No one really likes Monday’s. We so often use the breath God gave us to complain, and that can rear it’s ugly head on Monday mornings as the alarm clock is going off. I typically string together a bunch of random, hopefully encouraging thoughts, pictures, videos, etc. Basically whatever is on my mind is shared on Monday’s.   However, I haven’t been faithful... Read more
