It’s Monday again! Here are this week’s Monday Musings! Enjoy! 🙂

1) I woke up from the most delightful dream this morning.

It was one of those dreams where you’re in between sleeping and waking up and every emotion experienced in the dream feels heightened. As lovely as the dream was, the realization that none of it actually happened was a bit sad.  Nevertheless, it was still a deliciously wonderful dream!

2) This past weekend, I went kayaking on the Potomac River with a group of friends to celebrate a friends birthday!

The weather could not have been more perfect! We had a wonderful time splashing one another, exploring, and enjoying the river – all with a gorgeous view of the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument! Life in DC is never boring! I definitely think I have a new hobby. It was so relaxing to be out on the water, and felt like an escape from “city life”. I’ll definitely be going out again.

3) 45 years ago (July 20, 1969) a monumental event took place!

Man walked on the moon for the first time in human history!

My Dad, who’s love for astronomy has been passed along to me had the privilege of being in Florida when the launched Apollo 11.

“It was something to see. You could see the rocket lift off, then the sound wave started hitting your chest several seconds later. I think we were 7-10 miles away with about 100,000 other people. Very lucky to have seen it.”

4) These girls…

I am blessed to have made some of the best girlfriends I could ask for in D.C. Everyone’s lives are dramatically changing soon, and we spent Sunday afternoon enjoying one another’s company, laughing, trying on silly hats, and having heart-to-hearts!

5) This song…

“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is one of my all-time favorite songs! It’s one of those that I could listen to on repeat and never get tired of. Well, Ingrid Michaelson has a version that is pretty close to perfection!
