Charles Spurgeon is perhaps one of my favorite authors of all times. His writing beautifully weaves scripture and truth together in a way that penetrates to the depths of your soul. Recently, I read Psalm 86 along with a meditation from Spurgeon on the steadfast love of God. The title of Psalm 86 is, “great is your steadfast love” and the Psalm fit perfectly with the meditation. I encourage you to read the devotional below on God’s steadfast love and then... Read more

Chris Tomlin kicked off his Worship Night in America on Saturday, August 8th in the sold out venue, Madison Square Garden. I had the privilege of  attending the concert, chatting with Chris Tomlin before the show, and worshiping Jesus with over 10,000 people. The show featured Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Kari Jobe, Reuben Morgan, Matt Maher, Rend Collective, along with Louie Giglio and Max Lucado bringing brief messages. What makes this concert different than previous concerts? God put a dream on my heart about two... Read more

Daniel Darling, vice president of communications for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention has a new book coming out on September 1 entitled “The Original Jesus; Trading the MythsWe Create for the Savior Who Is“.   A more perfect author for this book could not be found, as a former pastor and a frequent author on websites such as The Gospel Coalition, Christianity Today, Relevant, etc., Daniel is well-qualified to write this book. Daniel is also a colleague and... Read more

The latest of a series of investigative videos from The Center for Medical Progress was released this morning. The third installment features an interview with Holly O’Donnell, a licensed phlebotomist who unsuspectingly took a job as a “procurement technician” at the fetal tissue company and biotech start-up StemExpress in late 2012. “I thought I was going to be just drawing blood, not procuring tissue from aborted fetuses,” says O’Donnell, who fainted in shock on her first day of work in... Read more

A second Planned Parenthood video was released this morning, highlighting once again the corruption of Planned Parenthood, and the lengths they’ll go to make a dollar.   In this video, investigators posing as a Fetal Tissue Procurement Company met with the President of the Planned Parenthood Medical Directors’ Council, Dr. Mary Gatter. Like the first video, the sting operation occurs over lunch as Dr. Gatter is sipping on iced tea and haggling prices for aborted baby tissue.  “I want a Lamborghini.” Dr.... Read more

As if abortion weren’t horrific enough…. Planned Parenthood was caught selling body parts of unborn aborted babies. This morning, LifeNews released an undercover investigation they had done in which actors posed as buyers from a a human biologics company. The buyers were meeting with Planned Parenthood’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola. Over a lunchtime “business” meeting, Dr. Nucatola discussed in graphic detail how they use partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts for purchase.  “We’ve been very good at getting... Read more

Elisabeth Elliot slipped into eternity this morning at the age of 88 years old.  (Photo from ElisabethElliot.com ) When I arrived at my office this morning, I pulled out her devotional “Keep a Quiet Heart” and read a few pages, like I do every morning. A few hours later, I saw the news that Ms. Elliot had gone to heaven. My heart rejoices that the woman who loved her Savior with all of her heart, mind and soul is finally free from the sorrow... Read more

Do you want to to influence people? Do you want to make friends with anyone? Do you want to love people extravagantly? As Christians, we should constantly be planning how we can love and serve one another better. My current home of Washington D.C. is a place where everyone has an opinion on every thing, and is more than willing to share it with anyone that will listen. (Sounds like an exaggeration, but it’s not!) I love to read books and articles on how... Read more

I bet the title of this post caught your eye! Due to some circumstances in my personal life, I’ve spent some time seriously thinking through what Biblical dating looks like. My conclusion: There is no such thing as Biblical dating. “Dating”, as we know it today did not exist in Biblical times. Arranged marriages were common (Issac and Rebekah), and there was a lot less of the “back and forth” that people experience today. I’m a single woman in my min-twenties seeking... Read more
