First, just fyi I’m planning a big LA Congress roundup post later today with tons of photos, so stay tuned. In the mean time, I’m busy digging out of my email inbox, where I found this little gem that just must be shared.
His Eminence Donald Cardinal Wuerl, the sixth and current Archbishop of Washington, caught on the street by those goofs at TMZ. I don’t watch that show, but the fact that a mainstream media gossip show would be chasing one of those who will vote in the conclave is sort of fascinating to me. I mentioned to my workshops at LA Congress this weekend that this is a pivotal time in our New Evangelization. For the next few weeks, the eyes of the world will be on our Church and her leaders. It’s up to us to be lights of good and true information amidst all of the jokes, derision and falsities that will be swirling around the media outlets. When in doubt about an issue, go to a trusted source for correct information before you assume that the rumors and innuendo you hear are true.
And now, because I can’t remember the last time I saw Cardinal Wuerl on TMZ I’ll share the clip — but be forewarned that there is Kim Kardashian humor inside, so be advised and procede at your own risk. And let me just say kudos to the Cardinal for his excellent handling of this interaction. Rock solid!
