Living in the Tension with Jay Bakker

Living in the Tension with Jay Bakker June 14, 2011

Our next Living in the Tension gathering at Roscoe’s (3356 N. Halsted St.) on July 6th at 7pm will feature Jay Bakker.

Jay Bakker, author and co-pastor of Revolution NYC, a church that meets at a bar in Brooklyn will be sharing about his personal journey with his parents and faith and about his recent book Fall to Grace: A Revolution of God, Self, & Society. After rejecting his faith as a result of all the hypocrisy he saw, Jay came to an understanding of grace that revolutionized the way he saw God and others and proceeded to become an outspoken advocate for the LGBT community. Jay is also the author of Son of a Preacher Man and he was the subject of a Sundance Channel documentary, One Punk Under God: The Prodigal Son of Jim & Tammy Faye.

We’re excited to have Jay visit Chicago and share some of his journey with us and you can RSVP and invite any friends on Facebook event page here. The event is 21+ and there is no cover, so we hope to see you there.

Much love.
