by Lori Alexander from The Transformed Wife β What is the Gift of Prophecy?
Editorβs note: Weβve quoted Lori Alexander many times this week and weβve done it because sheβs been spouting some particularly abusive nonsense lately. There is nothing Iβd like better than to not quote her. But when you throw rocks at other female cultural enforcers, and try to promote other ministries like the doings of Michael βLetβs Beat The Childrenβ Pearl and Bill βLetβs Grope The Teenaged Girls -Grabby Handsβ Gothard youβve gone pretty far away from the teachings of Jesus. My favorite preachers are those who are gifted with prophecy since I love to clearly know right from wrong, good from evil.
A prophetβs basic motivational drive is to apply the Word of God to a situation so that sin is exposed and relationships are restored. Prophets might be considered the βtrumpetsβ of the Body of Christ whosound the alarm in the face of sin and compromise.
Now this song by the Book of Mormon isnβt about prophets, but it is about how clueless, pushy and crass people trying to convert strangers can beβ¦
