No Longer Quivering
This morning I was busy reading through the swamp of bad ideas, toxic theology and sexism/racism on various cultural enforcers blogs when I stumbled across a series of comments on Lori Alexander’s blog The Transformed Wife. Transformed into what? A huge racist? Dave, one of Lori’s commenters offered as a plus for only having the husband work is that it allowed the federal government to take less taxes from their family income. Why was that important? To keep welfare out of the hands of blacks and others they consider low lifes not worthy of help.
I wonder if Lori knows what tax bracket she and Ken are in? I seriously doubt it. I would be that Ken controls the family finances to a degree where Lori is unaware of investment balances and savings. This type of financial abuse is very common in Quiverfull marriages.
Back to the topic. Here are the two comments, both so wrong, that Dave posted on one of Lori’s articles that is an aggregate of comments from that echo chamber she calls a chat room. The topic was how it is easy to make it in America on one income and how those that do not don’t trust God enough, spend money on fripperies instead of needs and women who work aren’t properly submissive enough.
Remind me again where in the Bible that Jesus ordered women to stay home and said only men can work? For all of Lori, Dave and everyone elses claims there is not one hard and fast New Testament scripture that orders this, or the fires of hell.
So he does not mention African Americans or Hispanics directly, but you know that’s what he’s thinking about. Those mythical Welfare Queens and Immigrants Living on Welfare, neither of whom actually exist. Nasty social programs, just like the ones that his wife and children may need one day if he dies and keeps her uneducated and out of the work force. How is helping the indigent ‘Anti-Biblical’?
Dave seems to have taken over all kissing Lori’s rump duties from a mysteriously absent Trey. Hmm. Another sock puppet, or just a clueless man?
