Courtship Questions?

Courtship Questions? September 23, 2018

Recently some of the older pieces by Michael Pearl at No Greater Joy have reappeared including this advice on how to get your daughters married off to righteous Christian men. Michael shares his strategy for finding Mr. Right for his girls. He reveals his courtship questions.

Remember when Stacey McDonald shared her list of questions you need to answer to court one of her daughters? Things like wanting the suitor to explain his father’s salvation and what his thoughts on diet were before asking how many obese people were in his family. Really none of theΒ  business of the askers in any way, shape or form.

Michael has his own questions, and thankfully for the most part they are better than Stacey McDonald’s

At least Michael is self aware enough to realize that none of those questions are really that determinative. I have no problems with asking the practicals. Good parents tend to ask their children and their children’s intended some of these questions, if for no other reason than to try and probe maturity levels and readiness for marriage. It’s the last question that Michael asks that is just so do not go there.

Funny that he considers any of those questions provoking. Shows how delicate the egos of men are in Quiverfull that they can be challenged and threatened by another man asking about financial fitness.

Just what every single nervous young man needs, a rooster scaring, dog beating, lunatic firing off questions into their faces about looking at porn. This is so completely inappropriate. I can’t even!

Please do not do this! Remember, none of the Pearl daughters has done such an outstanding job marrying men that will support them. Following Michael’s advice will likely result in substandard lying through their teeth sons in law.
