Soap Operas and Social Media are Wicked?

β€œThe Bold and the Beautiful” seems to be the focus in her rant about th evils of soap operas. It’s a show set in the luxe fashion world of Los Angeles.

This is from Lori Alexander of The Transformed Wife Facebook page, not the blog. Considering the infighting, the backbiting, the banning and deleting of comments and other social media hijinks done by Alexander I’m laughing over it. She engages in the same wicked social media actions she’s accusing others of. And Lori uses all the social media platforms to push her bad ideas and extra Biblical nonsense. She thinks soap operas and social media are wicked. What about Hallmark Channel movies?

Oh my! Looks like Lori is using social media to take stupid hypocritical potshots at anyone that opposes her. Using. Social. Media. She’s doing exactly the same thing she is accusing everyone else of. She uses social media to cow, intimidate and fear monger her followers, making sure to delete and block all comments that are not busy kissing her rear end, just like every other wanna-be an alpha female cultural enforcer.

Come on, Lori, there has to be better, more Jesus-y things for you to do in your daily life than fight online? She could take up feeding the poor, or visiting in hospitals and jails. There is always a need at various charities. But this online hectoring she does is pure vanity, a type of narcissism that only inflates her own twisted ego.

I don’t know why soap operas are dying as a breed. It might just be that they haven’t kept up with the interests of women. I doubt social media killed them. Plus I would never condemn someone taking a daily break from a hard day of raising children and household duties to spend thirty minutes or an hour watching the soaps. Everyone needs the occasional break to keep sane. I remember during my mothering days I would take a break daily to watch β€œThe Sally Jesse Raphael Show” because I craved intellectual stimulation. It wasn’t neccessarily the brainest of shows, but the topics were interesting and made you think.

As far as social media goes she’s very far off target. Yes, there are folks that love to fight on it, but you know what it’s excellent for? Staying in touch with far off relatives and friends. To crack a joke or two, or laugh at your own situation. How is that evil?

Lori Alexander. Lacking logic and doing the things she accuses others.
