No Longer Quivering
This is from a Michael Pearl of No Greater Joy’s archive of older magazine articles. Nowhere in it does Michael mention beating the child, but you know he has stated enough times that it’s perfectly fine to start whacking a six month old baby. What’s a few less months? I dispute his assertions. Three month old babies are not selfish jerks!
Here’s where Michael starts to set up this baby and mother in his hideous gas lighting of all children as manipulative monsters instead of babies who can only communicate by crying.
He is claiming that a three month old baby has the intellect and will enough to manipulate when all research shows that a baby of that age only cries when… it has a genuine need! A baby crying because it’s parents are leaving the room is exhibiting fear of abandonment, not willful manipulation. It’s right to comfort the child!
No spankings, not even of willful two year olds in the midst of ‘Terrible Twos’. At best you’ll be establishing yourself as a cruel taskmaster of a child without better options for communication and with high levels of frustration! Try to understand what need the child has and deal with it. This man’s ideas on children are horrific!
So in Michael’s little fictional world decorated with switches, belts and 1/4 inch plumbing pipe he has now made sure a mother ignores and denies the genuine needs of her baby. For bonus dysfunction at the same time the baby has been taught that you cannot trust or depend upon adults to help you with your needs. He teaches those kids that only a fake smile and fake joy is acceptable, that their true selves are hideous and broken.
Creating generations of mental illness and kids with no boundaries with adults who can now be exploited by child abusers. People afraid to admit to needs, or have any independent thought. This is Pearl World.
