Drag Queen Storytime at the Library Evil?

Drag Queen Storytime at the Library Evil?

I’m sure you’ve seen that libraries in different parts of the country now offer storytime in drag. They have people wearing their drag outfits reading the stories to the children who gather there. Turns out that Stephanie of The Girl With The Dragonfly Tattoo thinks that the ladies are not there so much to read a story but to push some sort of β€˜evil’ agenda. Maybe they are funded by Maybelline to promote mascara? I jest. Sadly enough Stephanie is not jesting. She thinks drag queen storytime at the library is evil.

You know there is a very simple way to combat this if you really insist it is evil. Just don’t go. Do not participate. Don’t go anywhere near the library while this is happening. Tell the library, or write them a letter telling them that is makes you uncomfortable for whatever reason. Besides, this leaves more room for the rest of us.

The ineffective method of protesting against this is to rant online about it. You might feel better but ultimately you are in no better position. It’s useless, it will not stop progress and it exposes you as being on the wrong side of history.

One of the things you can count on with Evangelical Christians is that they will always conflate new things as being demonic and out to get their children. The best way to deal with that is to leave the rest of us alone while you huddle in your little fear-knot shaking. Allow adults to make decisions and choices for themselves.

These are other human beings she’s speaking of and demonizing here. Human beings.
