Remember all those recent pieces of writing supposedly from Michael Pearl of No Greater Joy and No Greater Joy Magazine that sound nothing like him? This is clearly him, not just clearly him, but it is Michael at his most nasty, awful and advocating violence. A few selections from his second piece on Gentle Parenting. It boils down to gentle parenting is a liberal leftist lie and just simply beat your child because Bible.

His first piece examined where Michael thought he lined up with gentle parenting. This is the crazy town opposite, and reads like it was written by a demented mad man.

The problem here is that here are educated men stating something opposite to the Pearls tiny toxic worldview. Plus the original writer is a doctor.

Michael spends words, lots and lots of words, breaking down what he thinks the Biblical meanings are. This is a masterful word salad used to justify beating children as young as three months.

Michael invokes the abortion boogieman, the closeted gay fright under the bed and all the other Evangelical straw men to justify his outrage and word spinning. More meaningless posturing and promotion of self as the only righteous authority. Chest beating.

This reads like Michael is starting to salivate over the idea of using a rod on a child.

All of this is followed by many paragraphs of Michael Pearl doing a dissection from his own limited view on if the original Hebrew limits the age to use the rod. He comes to the conclusion that the Hebrew means you can smack the crap out of any child of any age and it’s perfectly Biblical and right. Even grown children, adults by any measure are perfectly fine as abuse targets.

But yes Michael is suggesting in many of his written pieces to do just that. Beat a child of any age. How many stories of his have we seen where Michael warns about the manipulative rebellion of a newborn baby, or his beating a toddler every few miles in the middle of the night because the exhausted child would not stop crying? This is exactly what he suggests.

Only Michael Pearl might think that using reason, logic and love is a leftist agenda.

Michael ends here after his screeds about what Hebrew words for children and the ages ends.

The only thing I see ‘wasted on foolishness’ is this entire silly justification for laying abuse onto children because you feel like it. Michael follows all of this with an ad to buy his child abuse manual “To Train Up A Child”

So weirdly different than the first piece. Now this is what I imagine the brain of a stroke victim changed not for the better might actually cook up, more abusive and demeaning than before. Will be interesting to see if he becomes more difficult as time passes in his articles on abusing children.

Please do not follow the Pearls abusive methods. There are so many more less damaging to children ways to impart discipline and morals. This is what religious child abuse looks like. This is a theology that has left a trail of dead bodies.
