This was especially refreshing this week! I wasn’t feeling like much had happened this week until I was trying to think of my Small Successes. 🙂

1. Deep cleaned both bathrooms including the showers.

2. I made up this meal and my kids love it. Filling for my hubby, lots of fiber for me (that’s a long story) and my kids eat 3 helpings each. And easy on the budget. I’d call that a success. It doesn’t really have a name, lets just call it

Sausage and Beans.

Around noon (at least that’s usually when I remember to do it!) throw like 2 cups of dry kidney beans and 1 cup of dry black beans into a small crock-pot, cover with water and put on high.
In the evening chop up and fry 1/2 pound of hot Italian Sausage and 1 onion in a large pot. Add 1-28 oz. can Diced Tomatoes, 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 3 Tablespoons brown sugar and simmer for a few minutes. Add some salt and pepper. Add the cooked beans and simmer and stir until it thickens a bit.
Serve hot over rice.

This recipe serves a lot (we like leftovers), and the measurements are approximate since I never measure anything.

3.Trying to somehow stay on top of laundry and dishes even though we’ve been feeling sick with sore throats and just feeling achey in general. (All I really want to do is poke around on the computer.) I’m not quite completely caught up, but I haven’t given up yet.
