  1. AbigailTea, what would you call a medically severe case?

Some abortionists specialize in late term abortions. They make more money that way.

  2. Since there are all sorts of abnormalities present in human beings from 0 to 100 plus, should we terminate them as well? There are abnormalities that may go undetected till the child is 3 years old. Is that child fair game as well for murderous intents?

And if we are willing to kill a human being because there is a threat to the mother, why can’t we kill the mother if she is a threat to her baby? What makes her more valuable? After all, if we are going to go the utilitarian road, the baby might be a more useful human being than the mother.

To further illustrate: A mother intent on killing her baby is more of a threat than a baby who is simply living as she ought.

Even in common legal parlance, intent makes murder and no intent is manslaughter if the action one undertook resulted in death. In the case of the baby in the womb, s/he is not even doing anything other than live.

Should we propose the murder of Stephen Hawking? After all, he has abnormalities.

  3. Many who support legal abortion do actually know and admit that terminating a pregnancy is actually killing a gestational stage.

What sort of devilish phrase is that? Killing a gestational stage?? Is gestational stage a life that you can kill? Since when have stages been “killable”? Is this the kind of perverse word engineering that we are reduced to in an attempt to justify evil?

We are all at some stage of human development: the zygote, the foetus, the infant, the toddler, the teenager, the middle age, etc, etc. How does one kill middle age? You only ever kill persons – not the stage. Are you “killing a stage of development” when you kill the teenager or the grandmother? Take a pick – eeny minie miny mo and decide on the stage that will be flavour of the month.

And if it is permissible to kill someone because one is at a particular stage of development, why not in all the other stages? If one stage is not sacred then all stages are not sacred so all killings can be reduced to a “termination of a stage of life”.

By the way, the vast majority of abortions are done in the first trimester

And that is supposed to excuse the murder, how?
