Pardon me folks, but the bigotry and discrimination shoe is on the other foot.

Christian bashing is the way of the world these days. Biased anti-Christian media, attacks on Christians’ fundamental First Amendment rights, and a constant drumbeat of hate tropes from the Christian-bashers in the blogosphere create a climate of hate.

Mark Shea covers this story so well that I have no need to improve.

Also, take a look at Left’s Homosexual Campaign. Not About Freedom, But Delegitimization and Annihilation of Christianity.  I don’t like the demonization of the gay rights movement in this article, but I do agree that the legitimate cause of human rights for gay people is being mis-used as a means of attacking Christianity and attempting to limit the equally legitimate rights to free exercise of religion of Christians. I think that this is both deliberate and malicious on the part of the people behind it.

  1. I think delegitimization and of Christianity and the requirement of approval of all sexual predilections is a feature not a bug.
There is also a lot of revenge in the hate sprayed around by the various groups.
All men are created in the image of God and, so, have rights. How you use those is up to you but I do not have to approve of your behavior for you to have rights.

    • The problem being of course, that the sexual lifestyle that does not privilege heteronormative lifelong monogamy is about as sustainable as using fossil fuels for transportation. It’ll work for a while, but you end up with smog.

  2. And it’s been going on for 11 years. Ever since “we just want equal civil unions to protect the ones we love” became “give us the sacrament of marriage or we will burn down your church”.

I laughed at traditionalists who couldn’t even find enough charity to support the church. I now cry with those same traditionalists who are finding the world has turned against them in the second. And I haven’t changed my position at all, that in a world which has abandoned any shred of sustainable sexuality, we need to find a way to keep people alive.
