This coup attempt was an orchestrated attack on America by much of the White House staff, various Republican attorneys and almost all of the elected Republicans in Congress. Trump and his allies attempted to overturn the election he lost and have himself installed as an elected dictator.
If they had succeeded, it would almost certainly have resulted in martial law and the use of the military to enforce Trump’s theft of the presidency. We probably would have ended in a Civil War. It would have been the end of American democracy, and the end of America as the great and powerful nation which gives all of us so much freedom and such a good life.
Trump’s followers play their own part in this by being so willing to believe the obvious lies of a psychopathic weakling who didn’t have the spine to take losing an election like a man. I don’t understand this.
I don’t understand people who continue to believe Trump and blindly follow the same Republicans in Congress and who hold various offices around the country, such as the Attorney General of Texas, who tried to destroy our country. Supporting these people is suicidal for America and Americans.
