I have hopeful news. Pope Francis’ health is slowly improving. The “slight” kidney failure that his blood tests showed has backed off and his other blood values are also improving. While our Poppa is still critically ill, and his prognosis is “guarded,” this is a sign of hope. Pope Francis is in critical condition after what Vatican News describes as an asthma-like respiratory crisis of prolonged intensity, which required the administration of high-flow oxygen. He is also suffering from thrombocytopenia, which is a low platelet count.
