INTO GREAT SILENCE post delayed until February 19

Hi folks,

Sorry to be late on last Friday’s post, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to get it done until this coming Friday. Alas. I’m looking forward to reflecting on it, but our dialogue will have to wait until then. (Eeks! Time!)

Until then, how is everyone doing? Anyone taking up the practice of Lent? (For something Lent-related, check out my post on Ash Wednesday here.) I have kind of a love/hate relationship with Lent myself. In theory, it’s something I should really, really love, but in practice, it just sends me back in my legalistic, teenage OCD phase all too easily. So I kinda avoid it too much. But we do have regular soup suppers at our church, and I love that practice and the way I get to spend time talking with folks across the generations, getting to know them better and hearing their stories. And we sing Marty Haugen’s Holden Evening Prayer after that too, which if you guys have never sung, you really need to check out.

Would love to hear any and all updates from commenters who I haven’t heard from in a while.
